The World Conservation Union defines eco-tourism as…
“Environmentally responsible travel to natural areas, in order to enjoy and appreciate nature (and accompanying cultural features, both past and present) that promote conservation, have a low visitor impact and provide for beneficially active socio-economic involvement of local peoples.”
We have been living and working around the Abrolhos Islands and the North West of Australia most of our lives. We understand how critical these areas have now become. It is our goal to introduce people through our eco tours to the natural wonders of the areas we travel whilst treading as lightly as possible.
Treading lightly means treating the environment with care, not over-fishing, leaving an island with everything you took there. Anchoring responsibly, being aware of the damage that can be done to the environment if it is not treated correctly.
We want to educate tourists and allow them to enjoy this extraordinary part of the world and ensuring that it is protected for future generations.
Our eco tours will allow you to observe up close on the most important sea bird breeding grounds in the world. The Abrolhos Islands are home to over 90 variety of birds with some only found on the Islands.
The marine life is world renowned. You can experience the majesty of migratory humpback whales as they make their way up and down the coast. The waters team with bottle nose dolphins and sea lions. Superb coral outcrops can be viewed across the islands.
The convergence of two streams create a unique environment with a vast pool of natural wonder that is unlike any other in the world. The Abrolhos Islands are unlike any other and we would like to keep it that way by introducing tourism that treads lightly we hope to preserve it for future generations.
