We anticipate that you will want to understand the measures that Eco Abrolhos have put into place to reduce the risk of infection from COVID-19 to both our guests and crew whilst on our tours.
Our vessel “Eco Abrolhos” accommodates a maximum of 32 guests for both Abrolhos Islands & Kimberley tours. With such an intimate sized group the risk of infection is significantly less than that of larger cruise vessels. Most of our guests are Australian who are travelling internally within Australia.
Our vessel “The Eco Abrolhos” operates only in Australian waters and does not visit foreign ports.
Our crew are mostly Australian or have all been in Western Australia since our first departure on the 25th February 2020. Any crew member who now travels outside of Australia will be required to undergo self-isolation upon returning to Australia for 14 days prior to returning to the vessel.
To further reduce the risk to our Guests we will be asking you to complete a COVID-19 Questionnaire closer to departure. This will assist us in identifying high risk guests for further screening.
Embarkation will be denied to any guests who have not completed a 14-day quarantine period and received medical clearance after travelling to or through high risk countries as per government advice. Currently this would include South Korea, Iran, China, including Hong Kong or Macau, Japan or Italy.
Embarkation will also be denied to anyone who has had close contact with, or helped care for, anyone suspected or diagnosed as having COVID-19, or who is currently subject to health monitoring for possible exposure to COVID-19.
Our screening criteria will continue to evolve and will reflect current Australian government policy and will also take into consideration Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) recommendations
If you are travelling outside Australia in the 14 days prior to your tour departure you should consider the possibility that you may not be allowed to board the Eco Abrolhos if the country(s) from which you have travelled are listed as high risk.
Eco Abrolhos Cruises will continue our operations throughout 2020 and will continue to risk assess any future developments in the global spread of COVID-19 and will take appropriate actions as required. We do not anticipate any changes to your tour.
If you are unable to make your tour due to a COVID-19 infection or a requirement to self-isolate, we will offer you the opportunity of a credit to allow you re-schedule your tour within 12 months (Terms & conditions apply). Should you find yourself in this position please contact either your travel agent or Eco Abrolhos Cruises direct as soon as possible.
The safety of our guests & crew is of the utmost importance to the Eco Abrolhos management team and we will continue to do everything that we can to reduce the risk of COVID-19 reaching the Eco Abrolhos.
If you have any further questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us to discuss your circumstances
